ANSO provides midshipmen with insight and understanding of the value that the Sea Services place on the well-being and development of our Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen. Regardless of rank, race, religion, sex, color or creed, the Sea Services treat every Shipmate as a valued member of our operational fleet.
I believe that by reinforcing these values early—and exposing Midshipmen to members of ANSO and our sister Sea Services—we imbue them with the values and traditions that make our maritime forces some of the greatest organizations in the world. In the end, it is important for our midshipmen to understand that this organization is about people, and in order for us to remain the elite force that we are, we have to care for and invest in our Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen.
ANSO lives by these values, which is why they provide outstanding Midshipmen with scholarships to further help them pursue their academic goals. What’s the end goal? That these Midshipmen becoming outstanding officers and future leaders who take care of their Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, and they ensure that our forces maintain the level of readiness necessary to satisfy our nation’s strategic military mission.
Along the way, we hope that these future officers embrace our values and pay forward the opportunities that were afforded to them.
