Viva Technology Students go to Annapolis

Through an ongoing relationship with the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, HENAAC facilitated for 6 students from HENAAC's partner schools to be participants in the Naval Academy's new Summer Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) Program for middle and high school students. For 6 days, from June 22 - 27, 2008, students lived, worked, and played on the grounds of the Naval Academy taking part in a fun but demanding string of exercises all encompassing STEM concepts. All six of these students are past participants in HENAAC's acclaimed Viva Technology Program.

HENAAC Enters MOU's with HSF and HITEC

HENAAC recently entered into separate MOU's with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC), in an effort to leverage relationships and resources to increase the numbers of students entering STEM related fields. Among other things, HENAAC and each of these organizations will work together to support and promote a college-going culture at every point of the education pipeline for Latino students. Through these partnerships, we will be able to reach more students, and provide inspiration, share tools, college information, and resources for them to be able to plan and prepare for college and the technical workforce.

HENAAC is Now Part of the Combined Federal Campaign #12473

HENAAC as an organization has been approved to receive funding through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) #12473. The CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 300 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally to help to raise millions of dollars each year. Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season (September 1st to December 15th) support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.

If you are a federal employee, you too can help HENAAC meet its mission by donating through your workplace and the CFC. For more information on how you can donate specifically to HENAAC through the CFC click here; http://www.opm.gov/CFC/
