Welcome to a new year full of blessings and challenges! This year, ANSO’s leadership will strive to improve the organization so we can better support our members, Sea Services, and Hispanic communities. We are committed to assist the Sea Services reflect the “face of our nation” by increasing the number of Hispanics in their senior officer and enlisted ranks. For that reason, our members continue to be engaged in their respective communities giving back and growing our future leaders.
As part of our professional development efforts, I am pleased to announce that our next ANSO Western Region Symposium will take place at Sector Houston-Galveston, Houston, Texas on March 2-3, 2020. The theme for this symposium will be: “Building a Culture of Excellence by Recruiting and Retaining Diversity”. I highly encourage you to register for this symposium – you have my assurance that you will not be disappointed. Our Eastern Region symposium is being planned for August 2020 in Washington, D. C. If you have attended one of our past symposiums, I am sure you will agree with me that they are well worth attending! Please pass the word to our Shipmates!
Once again, thank you for your support to ANSO. Please consider becoming a member and volunteering to fill one of the Board of Directors/Chapter’s vacant positions. It will certainly be rewarding and fulfilling!
