Hispanic Employee Council of the Foreign Affairs Agencies (HECFAA) Hispanic Heritage Month 2020 Opening Event

September 16, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

The USAID’s chapter of the Hispanic Employee Council of the Foreign Affairs Agencies (HECFAA) has invited our members to join them for the first week of events celebrating the Hispanic Heritage Month.

With this year’s theme of “Hispanics: Be Proud of Your Past and Embrace the Future,” HECFAA has the great privilege of opening the 2020 Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) with an event honoring the Latinx excellence of Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, Dolores Huerta. An equal partner in founding the first farm workers union with Cesar Chavez, Mrs. Huerta tirelessly led the fight for racial and labor justice, evolved into one of the most defiant feminists of the 20th century – and she continues the fight to this day. Through a screening and panel discussion of Peter Bratt’s film “Dolores,” we have the unique opportunity to learn about Dolores’ life of service and hear from Peter about the process of representing the complex life of this American icon through documentary film.

HECFAA welcomes all to join them for this virtual opening event honoring Dolores Huerta next Wednesday, September 16th! Below are additional details:
